The Ride:

  1. Start Strong: Begin your adventure from the city, heading towards Ipswich via the Centenary Bikeway. You’ll enjoy a dedicated bikeway up to Wacol before hitting open roads. Don’t worry—the bike lane is sizable, and the roads are generally quiet in the morning.

2. Navigational Tip: Ipswich can be a bit tricky without a map. We highly recommend downloading the GPX file for smooth navigation. Your first pit stop will be at Bundamba Servo around the 32 km mark. This is a great place to refuel before tackling the Kholo segment.

3. Kholo Segment:

    • Overview: The Kholo route spans about 10 km of rolling hills with various pinches reaching up to 18%. There are no prolonged climbs over 1 km, so you can power through the crests and recover on the descents.
    • Hydration Reminder: Make sure to top up your water before entering the Kholo segment, as there are no water refill options within Kholo.

4. Cafe Stop: After conquering Kholo, head towards Anstead for a well-deserved coffee break. Located beyond Kholo and Mt. Crosby, the café here is a fantastic spot to recharge.
